It’s always a good day when the white morph reddish egret is out and feeding. The good light was starting to fade, but my patience while waiting in the water paid off as he struck and pulled a small fish from the shallows!

This reddish egret was in full breeding plumage, and I couldn’t resist taking a tight shot to capture those colors!

Before photographing the reddish egrets, I walked over to the lagoon and captured this male black-bellied plover in full breeding plumage. The golden morning sun reflected off the mangroves in the background, creating the perfect backdrop!

Right after capturing the plover above, I came across a small group of dunlins foraging in the shallow water near the lagoon.
